Guest guest
It sounds like you need another professional who can thoroughly test your son's abilities and symptoms and then clearly report them to you. Over the years, we've had a few who gave vague answers like that as well. No real help at all. Helpful ones are out there, so keep trying. Where do you live? Perhaps one of us knows of someone who could be helpful at pinpointing what areas could use some help. Gaylen ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
Type in a search for DSM Diagnosis for PDD. That should give you the criteria for a PDD disorder. >From: lucysky@... >Date: 2007/03/28 Wed AM 09:09:45 CDT > >Subject: PDD diagnosis > > Hi - I am wondering if anyone if anyone has a young teenager with a PDD diagnosis - does your teenager actually seem immature ? My son reached all developmental milestones eatrly with the exception of expressive language. He is talking a great deal now - with the exception of spontaneaous speech . It is sometimes a little akward. > I am trying to figure out whty they say my son is " behind the others " . Whenever this is said - I reply - " what criteria did you use to determine this ? " - the professional refuses to answerthe criteria sheets say - " If someone does not look normal - then they are behind the others? Does anyone know a good site for developmental milestones for a 13 year old? Or a criteria checklist for PDD ? > Thanks > Alice > Sincerely, Juarez, M.S., Marriage and Family Therapist
