Hi ,

Regarding your question on money distribution from WALK NOW and CAN, 75% of

all funds raised go directly to research, this number is based on the 2003

financial statement audited by Quigley & Miron.

My husband is on the WALK NOW Orange County Sponsorship Committee and has

worked directly with Alan Burnall, Finance Director of CAN

They have all off the research they have funded through 1997 posted on their

site. They also have all research initiatives posted. If you are unable to

find the answers you are looking for I suggest you contact CAN directly,

323-549-0500.

I have a question on research. What kind of research? Is it mainly genetic

testing? Is there any research for treatments that have proven successful

such as ABA, chelation, ..and other biomedical intervention?

What about money spent on stem cell research and in particular (embryonic

stem cell research). I usually don't throw my support behind any

organization that spends money on embryonic stem research. It is against my

beliefs. I have no problem with adult stem research though.

Is there a way to find out all about that? I tried to look in the CAN

website but was not successful in getting answers to my questions.

Thanks,

How will we find each other the morning of the walk in Houston?

Shouldn't we walk together in show of support for the TX Autism

Advocacy Group? Since we will probably be wearing Walk Now t-shirts

there won't be space or time to have a personal message printed on

them but we could print out a list of our kids' names to pin on our

backs illustrating those affected with autism, what do you think?

Good idea, bad idea? I've done this in the past at G. Komen

Breast Cancer walks and it was effective. I am looking forward to

meeting some of you, the members on this group list.

> I have a question for you. Can children come? Would it be ok if I

pushed my son in a stroller? That is the way I can participate as a

walker and I really want to.

Tristan is 50 inches tall, 8 years old and still rides in a stroller at the mall

and amusement parks. We do get a lot of stares.

Recently, my five year old, 55 pound son and I traveled to San , CA and

there are no jet ways that come out and connect to the airplane from the

terminal. When we got off the plane we rushed down the steep stairs and when

we

got to the bottom I bent over and picked him up and carried him about 50 feet

into the terminal and we too got some funny looks but the roaring noise from

the engines scares him.

Just wanted to let everyone know, the Cure Autism Now walk is April 28, 2007 at

the Rose Bowl. It is always nice participating and feeling like were not alone

while helping the cause.
