Guest guest
, I think had an excellent points. Remember strep can cause rheumatic fever, too. I wanted to add that the child of mine who had the highest ASO has a heart murmur and when I asked Dr. G if there could be a connection, he didn't seem shocked at my comment, and if I remember correctly, said the same thought had crossed his mind... I am very nervous about strep because we have a family history of mitral valve prolapse, and there is also a theorized (and maybe proven) relationship between mitral valve prolapse and strep infections in childhood. Oh, it's summer vacation and all we can do is worry! Guest guest
I had scarlet fever as a teen, and my rash was intensely itchy, bright red, and mostly on my torso. It was larger patches (flat, not rough or anything), rather than small dots. Kristy Re: Gastro issues ( was it an actual strep infection, or was it mild scarlet fever?) Wow, I don't know, but I will definitely try to find some pics of the rash that goes along with scarlet fever and see. Thanks! > > > > > > My son's blood work has never shown a positive > > ASO. Guest guest
Thanks Kristy. Rashes can be so elusive yet a signal of " something " wrong. > > > > > > > > My son's blood work has never shown a positive > > > ASO.
