Guest guest
He's not OK with IVIG (feels there is a risk of transmitting disease, I think) but is OK with the intramuscular shots if done for the right reasons (they have never been known to transmit disease). Guest guest
, I specifically asked DR G about gammaglobulin for my son and one thing he said is he does not like to use it in every patient as treatment because it can push things higher that are already overactive. But he was going to try it for us if the antivirals did not help. (as I recall) My son did not have a high ASO. Side note: Hubby is one of three brothers. All 3 were hospitalized as infants with very high fevers. All I know is " their blood went bad " (don't know specifically what that means but really wonder about strep) and all were given gammaglobulin. This would have been in the mid 1960's. > > Hi all- > > Does anyone know if Dr Goldberg would have something > to say re a person getting gammaglobulin to bring down > an ASO when antivirals or antifungals (and currently > not even antibiotics) already being in place?
