Remedies (teeth and gums)

Residents of certain parts of Africa have never seen a toothpaste tube in their life, but still have the most healthy gums in the world. Traditionally, certain sticks and rocksalt have provided mankind with most effective dental cleansing treatment. Today, the essential oils can provide a natural alternative to commercial products. Of course, some effort has to be taken by you such as keeping off sweet things!

Recipe

A tooth powder can be made from the following ingredients:Clay4 tsp Salt,1 tsp peppermint,2 drops Lemon2 drops Green or white clay

Mix these together in a blender and keep in a box. Dip your toothbrush into the powder and wet with a tiny bit of water before brushing the teeth as normal.

Myrrh has been used for treating mouth problems for a very long time indeed. It is marvelous for keeping gums healthy and treating those that are not. A mouthwash can be made by:

1. add 2 drops of essential oil of myrrh to 1 tbsp vodka and mix well.

2. Add only 2 drops of this to each glass of water you use to rinse the mouth.

A recipe for a tooth powder based on a very old Swiss method. It helps to keep the teeth white: Ingredients:Swiss "Snow Caps" tooth Powder

Ground dried orange peel1 tbsp ground dried sage2 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda,2 tsp (baking soda) Salt1 tsp Lemon5 drops PeppermintMix these ingredients together.

If you are having gum problems add to the above ingredients: 15 drops of tincture of myrrh (available at pharmacist or health foodstore)
