: e-MDs autoposting/ clearinghouse experience

Hi ,

I think e-MDs only supports certain clearinghouses (Gateway,

Navicure, THIN and McKesson as of a year ago when we bought), and I

think you can download EOBs/ autopost from all of them.

I have had an OK experience with Gateway except that their

interface with e-MDs is not working with Vermont Medicaid so that we

haven't gotten paid by Vermont Medicaid in the 7 months we have had our

Medicaid number and Gateway can't figure it out yet. For this I pay

$250/ year extra to e-MDs ( " maintenance of the clearinghouse

interface " , hidden in the fine print when you bought the system, in

addition to their annual support charges and the Gateway $99) That

said, once you autopost it will save you so much time you won't believe

it, though the only payor we can autopost Medicare. Our region is a

bit computer-backward-- I would hope other payors autopst in other

regions.

PS. e-MDs claims that their smoothest interface is with Gateway, which

makes me fear for what their other clearinghouse interfaces are like.
