Guest guest
I can't get the 'fin'ly got my Armour' conga beat out of my head! I don't take anything specifically for thyroid, but I do have many of the vitamins and minerals that you mentioned in other supplements. I've read that there should be a four hour break between taking the thyroid meds and certain other things like soy, magnesium, calcium carbonate, etc. because of their effect on absorption. I also avoid iodine containing ingredients like kelp and seaweed although it's been so long that I don't remember why. I guess, in my mind, it's to avoid going hyper. Having said that, if you've been doing it all along, then I guess it would already be compensated for in your numbers. Plus I could have it all wrong as well. Are there things that y'all avoid altogether or at least within 3-4 hours of your meds? Is it different for Armour than for the synthetic levothyroxines? Thanks in advance... Judy Re: Dr. Lynn Gibbs - Katy, TX Ahhhh, now ya tell me. I took the whole daggone pill this morning. We'll see how I react today, and then tomorrow I'll split the dose.BTW, do you or anyone else take thyroid "helpers"? I found one made by Metabolic Advantage called "Thyroid Support". 2 capsules contain:Vit B12 -- 100 mcgIodine (potassium iodide) -- 200 mcgMagnesium (magnesium oxide) -- 200 mgZinc (zinc gluconate) -- 6 mgCopper (copper gluconate) -- 300 mcgManganese (manganese gluconate) -- 2.3 mgSodium -- 20 mgL-Tyrosine -- 248 mgMulti-glandular complex (liver, lung, pancreas, heart, kidney, and spleen) -- 70 mgThyroid (thyroxin-free) -- 8 mgThey recommend you take 2 capsules twice a day but I only take two capsules in the morning, right after I take my thyroid pill. That's the only supplement I take anywhere near the time I take my thyroid. I take all my other supplements with lunch and dinner. What do you think -- should I stop this until I know exactly how Armour will affect me? Maybe I'll find that I don't need the "helpers" since Armour already has T3 in it. I welcome your input.~Chelle See the all-new, redesigned Yahoo.com. Check it out.
