My son's prescribing nurse practitioner told me that Zoloft is going to

have a generic this summer. Hopefully, that may be good news for a lot

of us whose family is benefiting from ths drug. :-)

Both my son and I switched to generic Zoloft about two months ago when it became

availible.

I haven't seen/felt a difference- except extra happiness for the $20 each we are

saving on co-pays. :)

Now if we can just get generic Valtrex, everything else my son is on is now

generic.

Even though Pfizer makes both, sometimes a pharma company will sub

out the actual manufacturing of the generic to another company even

though they are still the seller of it. I am not sure how you could

find out for sure unless you could get a look at the package insert

from your pharmacy.

Hi -

I think Pfeizer is manufacturing it and subbing it out

for distribution to Greenstone according to our

pharmacy.

I'll call Pfeizer and ask them directly. But on the

other side, I started feeling some dizziness, too, so

chances are, we've had a very subtle virus hit the

household that doesn't bring much in symptoms. My DH

turns out to have a low-grade temp.

On the upside, things seem to be turning around for my

littlest one, who has been flat and un-energetic and

is now getting a lot more expressive and chipper (even

though his eye contact is still diminished and dull),

and it wouldn't be the first time that a virus hit and

made someone actually better. Odd, huh? (Probably

resets something in the immune system somehow.)

I'll still follow up on the Zoloft, and I'll let you

guys know if there's anything different since I'm sure

anyone purchasing it would love a cheaper price.

(Copay difference just gets bigger when a generic

comes available.)

Thanks!

I've been taking the generic Zoloft and haven't noticed any difference.

Ditto for Famvir. We pay a DOUBLE co-pay on that; I have no idea why.
