Visual spots

Hi all -

(This question is cross-posted)...

My 5 year old just started complaining about seeing

spots. He's not too great at describing it to me, but

I do know that they're colorful, they're worse when

it's dark, and it also appears that they are

interfering a bit in seeing things and some of the

spots appear pretty large (I asked him to try to draw

them). They were scaring him. (I told him they were

angels and he's not scared now, so he's talking about

them a bit better now instead of refusing to talk

because he was scared.)

Anyone have any idea what this could point to or have

similar experiences w/their kids? I get spots when I

have visual migranes but they're not bright and

multicolored.

He's also complaining about migrating joint pain,

starting around the same time. Before that, he was

complaining of headaches on top of his head (hasn't

complained lately and I don't ask 'cause I don't want

to implant complaints). Before that was the 5 months

of fatigue and 100.0 fever daily w/ loss of eye

contact and changes to speech and cognitive function.

I think it's probably something inflammatory going on

but there is no concern from local doctors who just

want to diagnose him w/Asperger Syndrome (which makes

me angry that they just want to say he's regressing

into this at 5 years old when he did NOT have some of

the issues he's dealing with now). I'll shut up now

or end up high on a soapbox lol.

Anyway, I'd appreciate any input.

Thanks-
