Guest guest
I saw Dr. Hollander for my diabetes. She is also a researcher. For my diabetes, she was good, it was just too hard to get there. She is located in Baylor in Dallas. Tell Ron at Dr. Owens to MAIL them to you. HE will do that. I always make sure to speak to HIM directly and they go out that day if I catch him early AM. They are the only doctor's office I have a problem getting my records from, but I do get them. Good luck Christi Randall www.singingwomenoftexas.com >> I had Dr Owens test my renin, aldosterone, potassium and sodium at my> last visit. Everything came back "normal" except the aldosterone. Guest guest
You are most welcome and good luck. Hopefully she won't. When I went to a new rhumatologist last week she made a face over the armour, but I very quickly told her I would not EVER use the synthetic again as it only made me sicker and sicker and I was doing just wonderful on armour. She dropped it real quick at that point. I would say if she gives you any grief just tell her that you are under a doctor's care and that you and your doctor have chosen the best medication for you and will not be changing. Christi Randall www.singingwomenoftexas.com Re: Re: Low AldosteroneI'll ask for Ron specifically tomorrow when I call and I'll call firstthing upon waking up. Thanks!I just hope this endo doesn't get all up in arms over Armour. I'llwalk straight out of that office if she gives me crap for it.Hopefully, since Dr Owens actually recommends her, she'll be betterthan the norm.Jul
Guest guest
I keep reading that doctors do not offer\prescribe Armour. I was prescribed from my PCP. So I am shocked to hear it is hardly recommended. What are the reasons these doctors are saying for not prescribing Armour? Guest guest
I was afraid that my Rhumatologist would say something about Armour...but she never batted an eyelash. Guest guest
, Most do not like it because it is not taught in med school anymore and it is not the "gold standard". They have been taught to use the TSH blood test and to use the synthetic meds only. With armour you go by the Free T3 and Free T4 and how the patient feels. That means they actually have to work WITH a patient and LISTEN to the patient instead of ignoring us and using their little black marks on paper to say your better go away now. UGH! Guest guest
Wow - if you have found a Texas PCP who will Rx, Armour, let us know who and where! Guest guest
My PCP prescribes it. I just don't recommend her because you have to be firm with her. But most don't prescribe it. Guest guest
I got a RX for Armour from my PCP. I don’t recommend him because he uses the antiquated thyroid panel lab. He also started me on 90mg and then told me to double it in a week or two if I didn’t feel improvement. Doubling it got me in to trouble with the weak adrenals.
