Guest guest
HEY Guys- I haven't been on in a while; hello how are you all doing?! ,and treatment? It's good to read your questions and comments... :Question for you, figured someone might now; -Since I haven't been able to see Dr. Goldberg and I had a NASTY infection in my abdomen due to a ruptured appendix; then left over abdomenal abscess infection afterwards- and 23 days of heavy antibiotic use to kill all the bacteria in my abdomen from the situation- I've known CANDIDA was a big risk even if it wasn't one before. I was unable to use the 'rest room' for days due to the rupture and swelling that caused my intestine to be closed/squeezed off... I tested negative for Candida/Yeast in the 'past' but was never tested for Yeast (after surgery, here recently)- considering my situation w/ the infection it only made 'sense' why any possibilty of Yeast growth should be addressed- and the tests aren't always reliable either. I'm doing well now; the infection is gone, and has been over one month now. -It was HARD but I was 'sorta' able to get my doctor to work with me on the use of an antifungal after going through such antibiotic use... a LOT of resistance. {I see a county doctor; so the second opinion I had to get was still in the same county medical system.} I was taking 150 MG Diflucan once a day; and it has been about 15 days now... That is a regular treatment phase- now what? I read Dr. Goldberg says that 'yest die off' takes 10-14 days- I've been on mine 15 now. I know the dose I am taking is 'lower' than he likes it to be (since I'm a 65 Kilogram adult)- but it seems like when I raised it to twice a day (150 MG x daily)- I didn't have 'D' or constipation (common die off reactions); etc... I just noticed I felt very depressed and like Diflucan wasn't 'chemically' syncing with my body well... Any type of depressive/mood reactions with Diflucan? Anyone?? ; and what do you all think of Nizoral (Ketoconazole?) Is it more risky?
