Guest guest
Hi i only just got your post in my inbox. If no one else hasd already said this then try rhinocort. My daughter had the same problem and her respiratory specialist said that rhinocort is almost the same as singulair and has less side effects. It has been working for my daughter now for a few months. Not as well i butt well enough to enjoy living without the side effects. Bianca Singulair side effects? Hi everyone~ I am new, I've never posted but I'm trying to read as many posts here as I can. My son is 8 and has been dx'd with ADHD for almost one year. He has other issues as well, anxiety and a rare disorder called erythromelalgia. My question is about singulair. Drew has been on it for one month and it adversely effected his behavior. Also, he could not fall asleep at night. He takes concerta for his ADHD and .01 mg clonidine to help him sleep. The singulair was helping with the respiratory issues but no matter when I gave it, it interfered with other things. I called the pharmacist and he said that type of reaction was unusual. Just wondering if anyone else has experience with this and what other meds you've tried. Just fyi, Drew has had multiple sinus infections, bronchitis and pnuemonia. He has an IgA deficiency but that's all I know at this point. I'm learning more about what I should be asking for by reading past posts. Thanks! Guest guest
I am going based on memory here, but my ENT said that Singulair not only suppresses the production of leukotrines, which helps asthma sufferers, but also suppresses T-cells. I don't know for sure but it is possible it also suppresses other immune system pieces. I have asked Dr G a number of times and he said he does not like to use it because it " pushes " the immune system too much. Have you tried Allegra or Astelin (antihistamines) or a Flonase or Nasonex corticosteroid sprays? These help alot with sinus congestion. Why was he prescribed Singulair? I would consider stopping it is not helping asthma symptoms. > > Hi everyone~ > > I am new, I've never posted but I'm trying to read as many posts here > as I can. Guest guest
When we started Singulair my son became very hyper. We discontinued it and the hyper stopped. We are going to start it again as soon as he gets over his current cold just to see if that was it or not but I am thinking that it was the problem. Guest guest
My son can't take Singulair either, makes his behavior go down the tank. We now use a nasal spray during allergy season, name escapes me right now. I know several other kids whose moms say they react poorly to Singulair (from a behavior standpoint) but that it is very effective for their allergies.. Re: Singulair side effects?
