Guest guest
Hi - Regarding removing milk ... I wondered if you have replaced it with a substitute? Occasionally some changes can increase symptoms, but removing dairy isn't always one of those things, unless there's a problem w/the replacement. Soy proteins makes my son very aggressive and hostile. Rice milk can sometimes be reactive due to the whole grain rice ... I limit mine to rice milk on cereal only because too much seems to be a bad thing (circles under the eyes, irritability). Someone may have mentioned before ... we don't all remove gluten entirely from our kids diets. In fact, many gluten substitutes are more irritating to the kids than simple plain white bread. We're tight and limit grains and limit bread/carbs/big starches. I did go GFCF for about 9 months until Dr G convinced me it wasn't usually necessary and often potentially negative to be gluten free. (I've heard of celiacs reporting a big increase in allergies after going on a gluten free diet, too.) Anyway, always watch out for illness ... coincidence often escapes me w/diet changes and I'll assume diet changes are causing problems, only to find out that they're sick. If you're not keeping a diet-behavior log, that's the best tool in the world when you're getting started.
