Guest guest
, Ashton has her IVIG every two weeks. She was not " holding " at every three weeks. They also just increased her dose. She has finally hit the 80lb mark. She does so much better on two week intervals. Her levels are better. And yes, she does still get sick, but not as often. Also, one round of antibiotics vs three or more, and it gets cleared up. It amazes me how great she is doing now. The first of the year will be her second year on IVIG. There is a little boy at their school whose mom is going to make an appointment with the immunologist we use. Both of her sons are constantly sick. She stopped me the other day and asked tons of questions. I have always thougth that they may have an immune problem. The one just had sinus surgery at 9, and it hasn't helped. I told her I would pray for them. She saw the ads on TV and realized what they were talking about because of Ashton. The home nurses have asked Ashton and I to be on a billboard advertising them. I think it would be great. That way, maybe more people will ask questions and we can educate more people. Her mouth surgery went great. No infection. She is getting used to the retainer. The bad news is, her orthodontist is going to retire. He has a very small practice, so we don't deal with tons of kids. He does lots of adults. Now, we will have to deal with a bigger practice and more germs. Thank God for IVIG. I am praying for all the famlies. I hope this winter goes well. Guest guest
, But once a child turns 18, are they eligible for SSI benefits if they are unable to work, and then the Medicaid insurance goes along with it, or is it different? My daughter will be turning 18 this summer, so I'm trying to figure out what to do first since we have always just had her on our insurance. Thanks for answering all our questions!
