Wellbutrin vs. Wellbutrin SR

Dr G wants us to start Wellbutrin (1/8 tablet twice a day). The

pharmacist will not fill the Rx until Monday when they talk to Dr G.

Apparently the Rx was written for Wellbutrin SR (sustained release)

and they said they would not recommend splitting a sustained release

tablet because you don't know how much of the medicine you will get.

Anyone else on Wellbutrin SR? (and it is SR, not XL that the Rx was

written for). Is it possible there was a mistake and it should have

been written for regular Wellbutrin?

Thoughts anyone? Its frustrating too because I always like to start a

new med on the weekend...not send him off to school on it!
