Guest guest
Candi You should not give the pink ones...better to not have to figure out if the dye is an issue or not. We get the white ones, and verify with the pharmacist that they are the white ones. They also have on his profile no pink or red pills. We once got a blue pill (not a coated one) and my sons foot tapped for hours! Check out this link....it shows you the pill and tells you the manufacturer. Look at this website http://www.drugdigest.org/DD/DVH/ListImages/1,20242,309|1,00.html > > Hi Everyone, > I have a question for those of you who have kids on Tenex. I just refilled it and this time instead of the white football shaped pills I got a round light pink/salmon colored one. It had a label on the bottle This is the same medication you have been getting. Color, size, or shape may appear different. Of course with these kids sometimes a change is not good. My question what do your pills look like? Do you have the white football ones or the pink/salmon round ones? I will call the office later and see if they care but I think maybe I should get the pharmacy to change it back to the white ones. Thanks in advance Also I guess the name is Tenex/Guanfacine .. Guest guest
Hi Candi I told our pharmacist that our son is ALLERGIC TO DYES!!! (True, he gets very hyper & red ears!) Now they make sure that they order only the white pills for me. When they gave me the wrong color I called them and they got the white " football shape " GUANFACINE (Tenex) and exchanged them. I guess it depends on their suppliers, but they can get you the white ones too. Good luck, Argie TENEX/GUANFACINE Hi Everyone, I have a question for those of you who have kids on Tenex. Guest guest
We had the white one too. Now we have the pink, and they are a pain in the butt to cut, they always break into a bunch of small peices. The pharmacist said the carrier switched tennex tabs, and we had no choice in the matter. But its the same med, just crumbles easily nancy > > Hi Everyone, > I have a question for those of you who have kids on Tenex. Guest guest
This is wild...I just picked up a new bottle of guanfacine yesterday and opened it this morning...we've always gotten the white footballish ones, but these are the pink ones. They are indeed crumbly, but I thought the other ones crumbled a lot, too. They were so thin and brittle. The pink/salmon color doesn't look too scary...not like SHOCKING PINK Diflucan. Since Dr. G allows the kids to take orange and purple multivitamins (and has never reacted to them), I would think the coloring shouldn't be a problem for *most* kids. Guest guest
We get a round white pill from Walgreen's, and it splits quite well. In fact, I half it with a cutter and then break it into a fourth with my nails. --- princesspeach <donnaaron@...> wrote: > This is wild...I just picked up a new bottle of > guanfacine yesterday > and opened it this morning...we've always gotten the > white footballish > ones, but these are the pink ones. Guest guest
Our mail-order pharmacy switched to these from the white ones several months ago. We've had to order them monthly from a local pharmacy instead. I did a web search to find the brands of generic that do not have dye and called around to see which local pharmacy on my plan carried them. Our Sav-on pharmacy in Albertson's carries them so if you have one near you, you might try there first. Gaylen
Guest guest
The color was definitely a big problem for both of my sons, as bad as it was w/ Diflucan. It took a few days to build up and I didn't realize it (suffered thru it) for a few weeks. The moment we switched back to the white (our pharmacy just ordered from the other maker), the problem went away within two days. A lot of times they switch up their generic carriers, but you can always ask them to go back. And yes, even the simple reason that they are easier to divide, and therefore get a more accurate and consistent dose, is reason enough to nag the pharmacist imho. I sent back Nystatin 'cause the new flavor was so nasty I would 'forget' it because it was so repulsive. (You'd think my pharmacist hates me, but she doesn't, lol) --- princesspeach <donnaaron@...> wrote: __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Barb, you should put a patent on those nails...mayube I should grow mine! Do they do 1/8ths as well! I also get the little round white ones - with an M on one side and a G4 on the other. They don't crumble with a fresh cutter blade. Guest guest
Hi, ! Yes, those are the pills that I get. No. Unfortunately, it does not work on eighths! (Eighths are so hard. I hate doing the wellbutrin. I get more crumbles than pill sometimes.) I have noticed that if I cut my thumb nails back (the only nails needed), it doesn't work anymore. So I have to keep my thumb nails a certain length. Try it! Barb --- <rmwilson@...> wrote: > Barb, you should put a patent on those > nails...mayube I should grow mine! Do > they do 1/8ths as well! Guest guest
It might be worth it to mail order the white ones. They are much harder and easier to split. --- atlantickayaker <atlantickayaker@...> wrote: > We had the white one too.
