Guest guest
Washing the blue off the Valtrex? Is this important to do? I hadn't heard this before. Do you wash it off with water? Sorry for all the questions and thanks for all the answers! >Are you washing the blue dye off the Valtrex?
Guest guest
Yes, very important. Talking hyper hyper hyper for most kids, although it could just trigger eczema or 'food' reaction. I used to run the pill under the water a moment, rub some of the dye off, then switch to rubbing the rest off with a paper towel to get the rest/majority. Then wrap it in a dry one to dry out the pill. Do you have to crush it? If so, let it dry a few minutes. If your child can swallow it, I wrap it in margarine and it slides right on down ... of course my kids would eat the margarine right out of the bowl if I let them. Don't wash a whole bunch at a time to save time for later. They will absorb humidity and be difficult to crush or get hard. You can wash up to two days worth with no problem though. I never tried washing them and then keeping them with silica gel, but that might work. I never wanted to risk wasting any to find out, though. Guest guest
It's that dessicant in the little packets that come in supplements, shoes, all sorts of stuff. Like probiotics... it's a tiny paper bag with silica in it & says " Do not eat " ... I wouldn't think you could buy it, and you'd want it in the packet it came in. But if you don't wash many, you wouldn't need it. --- friendsofcam <friendsofcam@...> wrote: > Isn't silica poisonous? How would you do it? > > > > > > > Washing the blue off the Valtrex? Guest guest
Hi , My son reacted horribly the first time Valtrex was introduced about 2 years ago ( I used to wash the dye from the pill). We just started Valtrex again about 2 weeks and he is doing okay. The difference this time is that we are getting it compounded by Friendly Hills Pharmacy. I guess in my son's case the dye does make a difference. We also have to have Diflucan compounded as well because the pink dye made him extra hyper & cranky! I hope this helps, Argie Re: Re: Famvir dosing Washing the blue off the Valtrex? Is this important to do? I hadn't heard this before. Do you wash it off with water?
