Lorraine,

The best thing to do in your case is to take hime to see his neuro. Always

better to seek treatment as soon as possible, if necessary. Seems like you are

familiar with the basics. My advice is to educate yourself in all aspects of his

form of this disorder. My daughter has presented with every type of seizure

there is, and I can tell when anyone is seizing, out of the corner of my eye. I

am so in tune with my daughter that my ears are so sensitive, it's almost like

they act like attennas, or bionic ears. Take care, good luck. Elena, mom to

Lorraine, This is a great website to educate yourself about seizures and

types. http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/about/types/types/ In my opinion I

think that you need to not wait and see what happens. Seizures can cause more

and different types of seizures, behavior problems and learning disabilities.

You son needs to see a peds neuro and have an EEG. I just want to add that

stomach ache can be a partial seizure also.My daughter has odd neurological

activities and focus issues and complex partial seizures starting at 14mos. She

is on Trileptal weaning and Keppra. She is doing so much better on the Keppra in

fact I hardly ever see odd things now. She is processing faster, focused and

seems more like her age in language it what she says and asks. I hate meds and

changes but sometimes it is a good thing.Diane mom to Nisha 4 lefthemi CP UP-PMG

Subject: Possible Seizures?

It is with much sadness I find myself having to ask this question. I hoped

and prayed I never would. My son is 4 years old since Aug. Up to now our son has

not had any seizures. On Christmas Eve, he had an upset tummy due to an

antibiotic. That day when he was pointing to his tummy telling us that he was

sick, he started doing these jerky type movements with his arms. At the time we

thought that he was getting cramps in his tummy, and this was the reason his

hands were moving? Since then on a number of occasions he has had these

jerky/flinching type movements in his arms, where they appear to move unknown to

him. It happens every few seconds for a minute or so. He appears normal when it

happens, his eyes and facial expression do not change, and his form remains the

same. On a few occasions this happens a number of times in the one day. Other

days it doensn't happen at all. Has anyone else experienced this, if so, did

they turn out to be seizures. Did these seizures turn into full blown epileptic

type seizures? Was your child put on medication. Did your child have an EEG. Any

information at all would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Lorraine Tierney (mom to Dylan 4, and Clodagh 5 months)
