Guest guest
Yes, they do them in both of those places. If you are in an hmo, you would need to get your hmo pediatrician to order one for you. Hopefully, he is on board with nids. If he is not, perhaps you could let him view the tape explaining nids which Dr. Goldberg made. We do not have an hmo, so Dr. Goldberg ordered it for us, and our insurance paid it in full. (They did negotiate the price with them. ) Dr. G prefers to use Dr. Uzsler to eval. the neurospect, and Dr. Uzsler now has his own neurospect in his office, which is where we last had one done in June. We purchased the cd of the neurospect so that we can view all shots and print off any view we want. Dr. Uzsler's office no. is: 1-310-264-0080. I believe if your child needs sedation, he will need to have it done in the hospital, tho. --- " Donna B. Guest guest
Thanks, Barb. That's what I thought...and that's what I was afraid of. I'm afraid even if 's pediatrician wanted to order one, the medical group has the final say and won't pay for it...it's going to take a lot of haggling with Health Net. Not looking forward to it at all. Thanks again, Donna < < <<Yes, they do them in both of those places. If you are in an hmo, you would need to get your hmo pediatrician to order one for you. Guest guest
Are you in a group insurance or private? Would you have the option of going nonHMO? It might be worth it in the long run, although, I know it can be a hassle. --- Donna Bond <donnaaron@...> wrote: > > Thanks, Barb. That's what I thought...and that's > what I was afraid of. Guest guest
We have group insurance and there is a PPO offered in addition to the HMO, but the monthly cost is extremely prohibitive. It would be cheaper to just pay for the NeuroSPECT than to pay the monthly premium for two or three months! We'll just have to do whatever we have to do... <<<Are you in a group insurance or private? Guest guest
I know that our insurance negotiated about 1000 dollars off the bill with the neurospect, so you might want to negotiate the price yourself before you have it done. --- Donna Bond <donnaaron@...> wrote: > > We have group insurance and there is a PPO offered > in addition to the HMO, but the monthly cost is > extremely prohibitive. Guest guest
I apologize if this has already been addressed, but concerning the NueroSpect Scan and Insurance, last week Dr. Goldberg advised that we may want to consider the NeuroSpect Scan for our son in a few months. We have BCBS PPO and I was curious if anyone knew if the NueroSpect was covered by BCBS. Thanks, Mindy Re: NeuroSPECT Great tip! Thanks, Barb. Guest guest
Has anyone successfully made a neurospect appointment since the Dr. Phil show? Dr. Goldberg wants my son to get one this year. I called and mentioned that my son is a patient of Dr. Goldberg's, but all I got back from the Brain Matters office is a voice recording about how the Dr. Phil show increased interest blah blah... Thanks April
Guest guest
April What office are you calling? Did you get the number from Dr Gs office? Maybe have one of them call for you? We went to Santa Imaging, and others here have gone through Harbor-UCLA. > > Has anyone successfully made a neurospect appointment since the Dr. Phil > show? Guest guest
Harbor UCLA is now called Brain Matters. I got the number for the one in Santa . They were much better. I actually got to talk to a person. Thanks! Guest guest
April - this doesn't seem right... call 1-310 222 5163 the desk, or Carmen on 1 310 222 5179 for the UCLA numbers. It is much much cheaper there and they will reproduce your scan against the full database. If no luck then call Dr G's and find out what is going on, R Re: Re: neurospect Harbor UCLA is now called Brain Matters. I got the number for the one in Santa . They were much better. Guest guest
Hi , Brain Matters was UCLA, but isn't affiliated anymore. Their procedure seems to have changed too: they take 2 scans. Dr. Goldberg's office said that they are experiencing problems with them right now and gave me the number for the Santa place, Dr. Uszler's office. I'll try calling Carmen, but I think they are just full because of interest sparked by Dr. Phil. Thanks April Re: neurospect > > > > April > > What office are you calling? > > Did you get the number from Dr Gs office? > > Maybe have one of them call for you? > > We went to Santa Imaging, and others here have gone through > > Harbor-UCLA. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Has anyone successfully made a neurospect appointment since the > > Dr. Phil > > > show?
