Harper,

I think Leona in Arizona has you beat. I'm 58.

Harper

Hi Harper,

No I didn't know that. But is it better to take meds in smaller doses?

Not to overload the system all at one time?

You're speaking of calcium and whether to take it all at once or spread it out, I think. My HMO said the calcium would be absorbed better if it were taken in separate doses. I have a hard time remembering to do that.

And you all know that Prednisone is metabolized better if taken before 9 a.m.

Harper

I'm 45 and have started on Fosamax every day. So far, I am not having

any problems. I take it first thing in the morning with a big glass of

plain water, then do not lay down again, but get up and get ready for

work. Then one hour later, I am ready to take the prednisone and Imuran

as well as the asthma meds. I am doing great!

Good luck!

, why are you taking Fosamax every day rather than in the weekly formulation? Is there some advantage? It seems it would be so much harder on your stomach and esophagus.

Harper

Harper can take up my slack . . .

Jerry

Jerry, that stomach problem must have affected your brains. Basically what I know is what you've told us.

Harper

nne - did you wear mini's and have that big big hairdo? Saw a photo of one of me taken back in 1970, I totally freaked out when I saw it ....I mean I never even recognised myself.  My children saw it and said "how could you mum" then I laughed so much I thought my sides were going to split!

Regards Jan

I ran into a picture of me in a bikini -- 25 years ago. I didn't recognize that teeny-tiny body, and I probably wouldn't have a lot in common with the person wearing it, either. She was okay, but a little boring.

Greetings,

I've been reading through all these, and know my mom has you all beat at the tender age of 73, and still fighting this disease (thankfully). To me age being irrelevent, more how strong is the will to live and have a quality of life with a chronic disease...that is the true challenge no matter what age. OK so much for my 2 cent commentary.

I've never asked before, but now I really want to. Please tell me, as a

newer member of this list, what happened to Jim Lambert? How did he die

and what was wrong with him beforehand? Thanks.

Hey KJ!

LTNS!

I believe (the oldest daughter) would be coming as well.Lu (as we

call her) is 21yo.....AND I'd suppose she'd wanna hang with the grown-ups

now......but you know she loves helping as well.

We have not been able to make a definite decision yet.....many things are

going on in our lives right now & it's far enough away (timewise) to make it

difficult to commit.

It would be GREAT if Beth could make it. Has anyone spoken to her about it?

****As for Allyson......I just dropped my husband, Larry of at the airport.

He is headed for England as we speak. He's due to stay there for a

week......on business (right :-\ ).

I know he just misses Allyson....ROFLMAO!

Oh my! What if she DOES kidnap him?

Hmmmm....gotta think about that ;-)

Hugs & Kisses,

Sandy

Re: Re: Difficult Nids Case.....anyone similar?

,

My son's pediatrician let us do an Adderall trial and we did

use it for a couple of months (an extremely low dose).

I did see an improvement in speech processing speed,

less word retrieval difficulty and more talking.

But we also had some problems with it too. My son became

very upset and angry on it, at night he would cry, and it

also increased obsessive behaviors. It was some good with

some bad. In the end I didn't think it was worth it.

I'm not saying this to dissuade you from trying it. Your son

may react much better to it. My only caution to you would

be to consider avoidingit if your son suffers from any possible

mild OCD or has had tics. Also, I would probably opt toward

a very low dose (especially in the beginning).

I know I've mentioned this book here before. But if you

can pick up the book Language Wise by Carmen

McGuinness. It has lots of great word games.

I've worked a lot on language over the years and I have

to say I think my son is finally really making some improvements.

If you'd like some specific language ideas you can email me

directly and I'll share with you ideas I've used.

Best of luck to you with whatever you do!
