Guest guest
Hi - Dr G recommends single or very low strain probiotics, and if recommending a specific brand, usually mentions Kyo-Dophilus (contains Acidophilus & two others, is freeze dried & doesn't require refrigeration, high quality, no bad fillers). The kyo-dophilus only contains strains natural to humans, which many others contain a bunch of others. GNC used to carry it, but I get mine from vitaminshoppe.com. The reason he recommends low strains... many kids are very reactive to other strains. For instance, it's documented and published that some kids with PANDAS can actually have their OCD exacerbated by lactobacillus ... and I can attest to that because I do too. Dr Goldberg says that in this case, less is certainly more. Oh-you wanted chewable ... I DO think Kyo-Dophillus has a children's version that is chewable as well, but I'm not positive ... but the vitaminshoppe does carry one that you'll find. However, the Kyo-Dophillus are very small capsules and mine have been swallowing them easily since they were 2 & 4 yrs old. Guest guest
Yes, we use Kyo-Dophilus also, and can attest that it is very good. Not good for SCD diet however as it contains potatoes, not a problem for us, but maybe for others. Also good for yeast, an enzyme called Candex, breaks down the yeast wall so the good bacteria can get to it. Works fast in 1/2 a day but the down side is it has to be given on an empty stomach. Good luck, Re: which probiotic or acidophilus do you use? Guest guest
Thanks for all the replies. I had ordered the kid's chewable kyo- dophilus, but I ordered the one that is a capsule today. It has 3 strains instead of 1.
