Hi ,

I've noticed that SSRI's as well as Tenex has really helped my son with this

problem. I also try to use deep breathing and deep pressure to help him with

stress and anxiety.

Hope this helps, take good care,

Fight or Flight...your child is stressed to the max! You are also

probably dealing with a hyper system...sounds like my son when we

started, no fight, just non-compliance.

If you do not use Dr. G, get a very compassionate pediatrician (don't

get someone so busy they will not help)

You need to calm down his system? SSRI's, basically everyone is

different so you will need to try them out under your doctors

supervision, small tiny doses, increasing very, very slowly.

We started first out with Prozac, not a match, tried Paxil, not a

match, moved to Zoloft, then added in Wellbutrin, then added in

Effexor, doses are small.....then added in tennex tiny, tiny

amt...1/4 of 1mg tab 2x daily. This doesn't include the antivirals,

antifungals, and allergy meds to clean up the immune system.

The ssri's really helped my youngest with some

emotional issues he had. He used to take everything

so personally, and after a few months on paxil, this

really changed. Barb

Tenex in addition to a low dose SSRI (Paxil and Zoloft

were both good until we would try to increase doses,

always had to go back down) were both helpful in

anxiety, but Tenex was the most effective in that

area.

Also, diet ... soy lecithen especially, but any soy

protein, after a few days, will make my son very very

anxious. Also, his pupils will be mildly dilated...

not enough that anyone but a mommy can tell, though.

It takes right at 5 days without any soy protein

(soybean oil is fine, there is no protein in it) to

see a difference. The changes in anxiety are shocking

when it is soy related in my son. However, it

doesn't seem like the amount of soy flours in your

average white bread seems to be much of a problem, but

if you're doing a soy elimination test, I'd make sure

there isn't a significant amount of bread in the diet

for that 5 days (meaning more than 4 slices, which

really the nids diet prefers no more than 2).

Hope that helps. Deep breathing ( " fill up your lungs

with air all the way down to your tummy " ) really does

help for a while too. Back and leg massages, hanging

them upside down, swinging them between two people by

arms and feet... all that deep proprioceptive input

helps. A mini-trampoline might, too. And so may

heavy loud music with a strong bass. :) One of my kids

loves metal, and another loves rock when they're

feeling high anxiety. I like it if I have PMS. :)

If your child is old enough, Effexor is pretty good

for some with anxiety, too. All the adults in my

family have really benefited from it at one time or

another.
