Guest guest
I have not heard from Zirmed yet, but I will no longer require their services much longer. I will let you know if I hear from them. Unfortunately, this is another reason my decision to leave the insurance industry behind is a good one. This kind of treatment is not going to change and is only going to get worse. Unless physicians stand up and say NO, the abuse will continue until we no longer exist. Going insurance-free August first, 2008 (sent out my letters to cancel all my insurance contracts yesterday, will file my affidavit with Medicare in late July to take effect August 1.) Durango, CO Kathy, Insurance plans benefit from EDI, but once a majority of physicians are signed up they will likely stop paying the clearinghouse. Something about our duty to send in the claim. That was the reason Thin collected from me in the past. Insurance companies were not covering the cost and the clearing house wanted to be paid for the service. Being Kathy Saradarian wrote: , Thanks. But I use Practice Partner not eMD and I am not looking for an new EDI. I am very happy with Gateway and have no interest in switching. I am searching for info on whether others using other EDI s have gotten the same type of letter? Or is just Gateway having a problem with the health plans. I am lamenting that health plans can just "choose" to not pay for this situation that they have created. And that they can "choose" to not pay for this while recording record profits. I think you said you use eMDs. Availity has been great for our AR this year. MUuch better than THIN internet uploads and free. Kathy Saradarian wrote: , I agree that it is worth it as it saves so much time and effort. What I am having an issue with is that it is also worth it to the insurance company but they can just "chose" to no longer pay for this service, despite the fact that they are making money hand over fist and we really have no choice other than to no longer play with them at all. Anyone using Office Ally get any notice that this will no longer be free for them? Or can they check into it? Still worth it, IMO to get the clean claims to the insurers. You can submit to most of the insurers (at least here in CA ) directly through their websites, but that takes longer than the 5 clicks it takes me to submit to the clearinghouse. Pratt San Ramon, CA From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Kathy Saradarian Sent: Wednesday, April 30, 2008 6:06 AMTo: 'Practice Management Issues'; Subject: EDIs I recently got a letter from my EDI, Gateway, that I am now going to be assessed an additional annual fee on top of my monthly fees, because the health plans have decided not to pay anything anymore. So I am wondering if any of you have heard of this? And especially all of you using Office Ally for free, it sounds like that is going to end. Why is it that the health plans can just "decide" to no longer pay to receive their clean, scrubbed, claims but we can't "decide" not to pay someone to send our claims? Guest guest
I believe that you need to give Medicare a 3 month notice.
