Guest guest
Hi Shona, Wow!! I'm impressed your son will eat veggies and rice. My little guy is very picky, and will have nothing to do with 'healthy' foods ;-( For breakfast he eats a Mickey Mouse waffle made with Namaste foods no-sugar added waffle mix. I mix it according to directions, but I also add no-sugar applesauce or pear sauce (baby food pears), and 2-3 tablespoons of flax seeds, and handful of blueberries (fresh, dried or frozen) - these to battle constipation - and use rice milk, served with a little maple syrup. He also likes nitrite-free bacon (which they now sell at Costco and it's very good!!!!) or nitrite-free sausage. For lunch at school I send a cut-up nitrite-free hot dog (they make chicken, turkey and beef so he gets some variety), rice cakes, apple slices (both Costco and Trader Joe's sell fresh cut-up ready to go), dried fruit (no sugar or sulphites added) or a fruit leather, fresh veggie juice (in a reusable juice box), etc. He also likes goat-cheddar cheese, which I can find at some of our health food stores. For dinner we usually have grilled steak or another meat and he eats either apples or bananas. I serve veggies, which he never eats, so I also serve him veggie chips so I feel like I'm being a good mom. He does not like sauces of any kind, but I think you can Google gluten-free soy sauce and find one. Try www.glutenfreemall.com, too. www.tacanow.com has tons of good GFCF info. In the summer, I usually have all-fruit popsicles or Rice Dream ice cream on hand. There are also several gluten-free cookies in the stores, so he gets those on rare occasions. For holidays, I keep enzymes from www.houstonni.com on hand for invariable infractions. If he gets gluten without the enzymes, he flings things (toys or whatever) and sometimes crumbles things in front of his eyes, but he doesn't do these things with the enzymes and gluten. He NEVER gets dairy, or he gets an ear infection or other respiratory infection. We actually were able to successfully reintroduce corn about 2 months ago, after over 1.5 years off of it. HTH a little. Kristy food allergies again > > > Hi all!
