Guest guest
Hi all! Thanks for your support through this journey with the kids. I've spoken with Dr. Goldberg's office and he wants me to continue what we had already started. I keep a food journal for Skyler and note what he eats and his behavior, bowel movement(He has a lot of trouble with diarrhea.), whether he's more hyper, hard to get to sleep, etc. It's really helped us out a lot. I'm really interested in finding out more about how to remove the preservatives from his diet. I have tried a gluten free casein free diet with him before, but he reacted horribly to all the additives in the gfcf foods that I bought. Nothing is easy with this kid. :-) Someone had posted about having their child preservative free along with gfcf. If you would, please either e-mail me privately or post on the list. My e- mail is chaia98@.... Food is such an important trigger with Skyler that I just have to get this right for him. We've all been so excited because Skyler has spoken twice in the past couple of weeks! I've waited so many years for this. Take care. Guest guest
Hi Shona, Have you removed soy as well? Soy protein is very similar to milk protein, so it can be a problem (it is for my son). My son also doesn't do well with corn, preservatives & nitrates, food coloring (esp. red dye), and refined sugar. Tapioca can also make him hyper. Kristy food allergies again Hi all! Guest guest
Hi Kristy. What do you feed your son? I'm trying to come up with a menu for him and am really struggling. He also doesn't do well with corn and reacts horribly to most preservatives. He LOVES broccoli and green beans(cooked in diet 7 up of all things). :-) Is there a good soy sauce around? He will eat lots of peppers and veggies mixed with rice and soy sauce and a little stevia. Shona > > Hi Shona, > > Have you removed soy as well?
