Guest guest
We just got the EIO push chair and the size 1 inserts...LOVE IT! Not heavy and very, very easy to maneuver. Downsides are: it won't collapse if the inserts are in it and the 5 point straps are horrible. It fits in the back of our van in open position. Now we just fold down our back seat and wheel it in and out Bath chairs are tricky....we are trying out our 4th one. If you are at a therapy center ask if they have any in storage you can borrow to try out. It sucks to buy something and then it doesn't work. > > > > > >>>> > > > > > >>>>> I am coming to the realization that out current stroller will not meet my son's needs. Guest guest
Dont' forget that if you are on the waiver/have medicaid, bath chairs are considered DME and should be paid for by Medicaid. Guest guest
a lot of my clients use Otters, would that work for your child? It depends on how much support he/she needs. Guest guest
Ask your therapists about all of this equipment. My pt's and OT's always let me borrow equipment to try it out first. A lot of the the time people donate these items back to the clinics just for people to borrow. We currently have a rifton bath seat, several flag house switch toys, a creepster crawler, and a rifton pacer gait trainer all on loan from our therapists. We love the gait trainer so we are going ahead with the approval process to get our own. Plus the one on loan is older and doesn't have all of the accessories he needs. It helps to try before you " buy " because there are so many things out there. My son tried three or four different gait trainers at the therapy clinic and they were all a little different. So ask your therapists for help if you're overwhelmed, they're great resources for these kind of decisions. “I am learning all the time. The tombstone will be my diploma.†— Eartha Kitt > We have a Rifton bath chair that we like. > > Sent from my iPhone > > > > > Thanks. Added to my list. Anyone use anything for bathing? Guest guest
We have Tricare (military insurance). I don't think we can use Medicaid. Tricare should cover assistive technology. Thank you all for the great info. I have learned so much.
