Guest guest
I had Dr Owens test my renin, aldosterone, potassium and sodium at my last visit. Everything came back " normal " except the aldosterone. It was low. The number was 1.6 but she said it was a scale and she doesn't know how to read it (the nurse). Dr Owens said it wasn't something she knew enough about to be able to treat and I needed to see an endocrinologist for it. They recommended me to Dr Priscilla Hollander (an endocrinologist) in Dallas. Does anybody know what that number means? Also, do you know anything about this doctor? I still have Owens for all my thyroid needs so I'm not nearly as concerned as I would be about seeing an endo for this. Or should I be? Any thoughts? And no, I don't have the numbers for any of the other stuff. I'm getting them hopefully mailed to me since they won't fax but she has to speak to Ron about it tomorrow. I told her I understand they're following laws that are set to protect the patient but it's beyond crazy that I'm giving you permission to release them, that should be enough. I cannot drive out to Mesquite to pick these up every time. And I'm not waiting for my next visit, 2 months from now, to see them. So I'll call her back tomorrow and hopefully get an exception made. Oh and for current patients of Dr Owens, they're moving their offices to Rowlett probably the end of this month but it could be a bit sooner. They will send out letters but the current phone number will work for a short while. Jul
