Guest guest
The doctor whose protocol we're following for Curt's immune system problems, Dr. Goldberg, uses SPECT scans quite a bit with his patients. It's been very interesting to hear from people who have done this with their children and followed the changes in the scans as treatment progresses. You can find several of Dr. Amen's books about using SPECT scans to guide treatment at the Plano libraries. The one I read actually listed specific symptoms tied to various hypo- and hyper-perfusion states in specific brain areas. Although the technology intrigues me, I was concerned about using the radioactive dye with my son who has a history of reacting to various dyes so we chose not to go that route. It's my understanding though that the Dallas Environmental Health Center started offering these scans a few years ago to help with better targeting medication choices.
