Certified or not. Also just because the grower doesn't use herbicides and pesticides on his farm so he can be certified organic does not mean that his neighbor isn't happily spraying away. Organic certification only means that the grower is not using chemical fertilizers, insecticides or herbicides. That is all it means. Obviously then, they use natural fertilizers. Is there a problem here? I would be more worried about what comes out of my tap then what is in my herbs. Unless, of course, they start irradiating them. People have been using herbs for tens of thousands of years or more. We have only had to worry about our plants since the advent of insecticides, chemical fertilizers and herbicides. For this I can see being moderately worried about the chemicals but not for natural organic fertilizers, etc. Okay my two cents worth. Thanks Suzi for checking that out. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man. Guest guest
Excellent information...thanks for doing this Suzi...I was hoping that they would be safe and good since their prices are so reasonable it would be terrible to have to strike them off of the list of places to horder stuff from! I placed an order this week and will probably order more the week after next because I remembered a couple of more things I need that they carry and are cheaper than most places. Caroline As many of you are ordering herbs... and want to be sure they are safe... I want to pass this on as I was having a conversation with someone the other day about overseas "stuff". (herbs in particular)... so I decided to contact herbalcom as I have been dealing with them over several years and do alot with them... and have never had any problems but to be safe I would contact them about their products... I already knew they are not "certified" organic... but much of what we get that is good is not "certified" Anyway here is what they told meherbalcom@... wrote: Date: Thu, 7 Oct 2004 14:44:15 -0400 (EDT)Subject: Re: HerbalCom Visitor Comment / replyFrom: herbalcom@...To: suziesgoats@... Guest guest
Hi Although we live in the UK (England). We buy our Herbs and the like from a company in California (also available in bulk supplies). We are very pleased with everything that we have had from them (and so much cheaper than here in the UK). Their web address is: www.drycreekherbfarm.com I hope this helps those of you who are concerned about dodgy suppliers. Kind regards Jeff ----- Original Message ----- From: " Don Quai " <mysticalherbalist@...> <health > Sent: Thursday, October 07, 2004 8:59 PM Subject: Re: Fwd: Re: HerbalCom > > Suzanne wrote: > > > As many of you are ordering herbs... and want to be sure they are safe... > > I want to pass this on as I was having a conversation with someone the > > other day about overseas " stuff " .
