Alywin, I'm going to address my e-mail message to you beccause I notice that you

write back to quite a few people in the alliance, and you seem to have alot of

background w/ our medical issues. Numerous as they be ,let me list mine quickly,

and then to go on w/ my concerns, As follows: FMS, CFS, RLS, MVP,(ANGINA)

GERD,HYPOTHYROID, SCIATICA, ^CHOL.,TRI.,LDL., INSOMNIA, DEPRESSION, JAW

PAIN,PLANTAR FACSITIS. I won't bore you now on all the scripts. and

vit.,supplements. The pain spec. recently changed or added 3 medications....

Off Zoloft 150mg/day---on Cymbalta 60mg./day for 2wks. then ^ to 60mg. 2x/day. ^

elavil to 25mg.@ bedtime and ^ pain medication Duragesic 25mcg. patch, reapply

eveery 72hrs......... Now the side effects that are disturbing, ^chest pain,

palpitations, light headedness, profuse sweating, weakness, headache in temple

and ears. The pain level is still 6-8, but, sleeping is better. I'm not sure if

it's the cymbalta or the fentyl

(duragesic). I've been on both medications before, w/o such disturbing side

effects. If you get this e-mail, would you let me know. So I at least know I'm

sending the right way. thanks, connie

I'm not Aylwin and actually don't post often but happened to notice

your post.I have run a couple of support groups and have done

extensive research.My main problems are FM,migraines,most days,GERD

and depression.I suffered severe depression for years and I've been

given so many different meds, I can't remember them all.

I take alot of meds now, including Morphine sulfate. I tried the

Fentanyl patch for a while and had alot of the side effects you

mentioned-sweats and headaches being two of the main ones ,I

remember.I have these with the MScontin ,as well, however. I found

the patch was not very effective in that you hit peaks and valleys of

pain control.

I tried elavil(amitryptilene),as it is one of the most common

antidepressants used for FM.I found I slept alright ,like you,but

also had some of the side effects you mentioned-like

palpitations,headaches.

It really is a trial and error road we tread. You have so

many problems,it must be difficult to keep track of what's doing

what,as I do.

Good luck!
