The worst part of my Fibro is the horrible flu type muscle pain in every part of

my body. The

other things I can deal with right now. When I have a really bad flare up my doc

gives me a

round of decreasing prednisone and it really helps. Does this sound like what

anyone else has

experienced? Just trying to gather all the info I can. Thank you, Neda

I wouldn't recommend them for even the shortest period of time. They

will cause osteoparosis (sp?) eventually and also they have some nasty

side effects.

My mom took them for years for Adrenal issues and Fibro (way back

before they called it Fibro or would even recognize it as a condition),

and her bones are literally disentigrating...

A little bit may not seem like a big deal...it's just my opinion. I've

had to be on massive doses of Prednisone when I was sick with a blood

disease and it was the worst feeling ever...being on them and coming

off of them. They really aren't a good rescue drug for pain. I say go

for the narcotics...they are actually safer.

I will say that I certainly KNOW HOW YOU FEEL AND CAN EMPATHIZE WITH

YOU!!

Hello Neda,

I don't know about the rest of your medical history, but the Prednisone

you mentioned is commonly used as an immuno-suppressant, but is also

used to treat other things. That makes me wonder what other thing might

be causing the FM you mentioned.

I have had several rounds of Prednisone over the years, but it was to

treat a type of vasculitis (somewhat similar to Lupus, in that the

immune system " attacks " healthy tissue).

It's frustrating for FM/CFS (and other sufferers), because there are

many similar disorders and overlapping or mimicking symptoms to try to

sort through by the slow process of elimination.

I wish you the best of health and happiness,

:-)
