HOW does antibiotic treatment HELP our kids?

We have never had a positive ASO or mycoplasma.

My son has always done better (brighter) on antibiotics.

We have done ERYPED twice, each for 90+ days.

Dr G wanted to add sulfa-based antibiotic, we did, but he had an

allergic reaction.

We recently stopped Eryped....I did it, and Dr G was not thrilled

with me, but my son was able to tell me he did not want to take it

because it made his tummy hurt. I have taken meds before that made

my tummy hurt, and with all of the other stuff I throw in him, I

made the parental decision that this med was not working for us and

stopped it. BTW since stopping, better appetite, much better stools!

It has been 1 month since stopping, and I am watching him closely.

It feels like over past 2 weeks he has trended down (more talking to

himself, less reponsive). Could this be antibiotic related, or more

likely SSRI related?

This am he feels warm...could be anything I know but we have had

this pattern before of:

stopping antibiotic

sinuses strt to get stuffy

bowel function deteriorates

go to doc get antibiotic, everything improves

Went to the ENT 5 days ago, and his sinuses look great. Being

aggressive with Astelin, Nasonex, and AhChew.

Additional info...in my husbands family there are 3 boys. All 3 had

some sort of serious illness as babies....high fevers and

antibiotics did not help. Doctors at the time told family " their

blood went bad " (whatever that means). They were all given gamma

globulin shots....have no idea how many, how long. Anyone know...Is

there something possibly hereditary that the body cannot fight off

certain bacterias?

Does anyone think I should see an Immunologist?

Thanks for reading and any replies are most welcome.
