I have a question for those who have had the spects

done at UCLA-Harbor/Brain Matters w/Carmen and SMITA

Did your child have to sit quietly in an area, with the

IV already inserted in the arm, without a gameboy, book

or computer, 15 min prior to the injection of the isotope?

Feel free to email me your answers ...

Thank you !!

Doris,

He had to do iv or shot at beggining. Wait a while, then lay on a

table. He was lay there trying to sleep or meditating like a Jedi.

As long as he know what to expect, everying usually turns out fine.

Try what ever he is into at the time. Not to worry too much, I was

so worriey that he would have to be sedated, but he was on the table

for 45 minutes without any movement at all. Dr Uzler was very

impressed, so was I.

for some reason, alex got the shot, then came out stay with us. Then

he went alone for the scam. I when to take look at times, the had

mostlight turned off. was was just turned 11 last summer.

I am not sure if that makes any difference compare to other children.

oh I'm not worried.

has had 2 scans done at UCLA-Harbor with Carmen

with no problems. Due to insurance, we had thought to try

SMITA/Dr Uzler's office this time out.

But there appears to be a problem with how, or rather,

when the isotope is injected.

Carmen does not leave the IV in - SMITA is telling

me they do. Carmen has never told us couldn't use

his Gameboy or Computer. SMITA is telling me he has to sit

quietly with no outside stimuli.

We know from our experience with the Amen Clinic that this

is not going to work.

Dr Uzler said he would call Dr Goldberg and confer.

I had the opportunity to talk with Dr Uzler and was very impressed

with his manner and knowledge. But if the IV is the issue,

and Carmen still does things the way she's always done them,

then we're going to have to shuck out $1200 instead of $0.
