Guest guest
This is a post from another group, word for word. Thanx Marnie SURPRISE!!!! Ivory is not SOAP at all! Never mind the purest soap! Soap consists of glycerine & soap the result of fats or oils meeting an alkali which causes a chemical reaction called saponification. Ivory is a synthetic fatty acid soap with additives (blueing, fragrances, etc.). Technically not soap at all but a Chemical Detergent. In the past it was a soap; no longer! Dr. Bronners is pure soap; with the exception of the stuff he has with SLS now. http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/household/brands? tbl=brands & id=1600\ 3181 Ingredients from MSDS/Label Chemical CAS No / Unique ID Percent Sodium chloride 007647-14-5 Fragrance(s)/perfume(s) 000000-00-1 Magnesium sulfate 007487-88-9 Sodium tallowate 008052-48-0 Sodium cocoate 061789-31-9 Sodium palm kernelate 061789-89-7 Water 007732-18-5 Sodium silicates (unspecified) 999999-62-
