Guest guest
would you mind explaining what FastForward is? My son is nonverbal... would this be something that could help him, or do you know of something that has been helpful? Thanks- --- drsmit6 <sjsmith@...> wrote: > welcome fellow Fed! :-) > Dr Goldberg does use Dr Uzler. Guest guest
Doris: Dr G used Dr Uzler the last time we were in California...2003. What happened? There is no way I can go back now...I have 2 kids as patients thats $2400 for spect scans and air fare around $3,000, plus hotel and car....I just don't have that kind of money laying around. I am barely making the phone conference calls at $185ea per mo. not including the out of pocket costs for the meds. My son's valtrex is $188 per month. This is really depressing. Why can't Dr G just take the spect scan done here at our university hospital? As it is I've had to quit my job to homeschool my son, so we are down to one income. There is no way I can do a follow up. I realize some people have a large income, but for regular people, this is just out of sight. I have 2 in private school that's $6,000 yr in just tuition. The phone conferences every month is $4,440 per year. I don't know what I am going to do. As it is I've run every credit card up to the hilt. I am just going to have to hold off on any kind of follow up until a much later date. cat drsmit6 <sjsmith@...> wrote: welcome fellow Fed! :-) Dr Goldberg does use Dr Uzler. Guest guest
As I understand it, Neurospect scans from both facilities in LA area (ie BrainMatters/UCLA Harbor and Dr Uzler at Santa ) are used by Dr Goldberg at present. While other hospitals may be able to do scans (they can do them here in Singapore at two hospitals for goodness sake), none are yet equipped with the data base for comparison nor have their machines calibrated to read the information and present it in the manner in which Dr Mena and others built up over a number of years. The other very important issue is that whoever does the scans needs to be able to interpret what they mean...not many people can do this...Dr Mena, Dr Uzler and Dr Fred Mishkin (Harbor UCLA) are able to do this with consistency. Brain Matters as I understand it is setting out to establish as many as 20-25 sites in the US and them some around the world to reduce the need to travel and build up a much larger data base about our children's blood perfusion - this will take time. Cat, Dr G will let you know when he thinks you might (if at all) need follow-up scans, and how best for you to financially cope with two children's needs. Guest guest
okay...I will breathe. I misread the post thinking he no longer picked up Dr Uzler. Dr Uzler accepted 100% of the insurance as payment in full...so hopefully this has not changed. <rmwilson@...> wrote: As I understand it, Neurospect scans from both facilities in LA area (ie BrainMatters/UCLA Harbor and Dr Uzler at Santa ) are used by Dr Goldberg at present.
