Guest guest
Good Morning Everyone: Yesterday was Sunday, August 19th......... " a date that will go down in infamy " ! As you are all aware, I started Dofetilide/Tikosyn on October 10, 2000 - after a history of permanent Afib and after the second dose of Dofetilide, I was finally in NSR. I had my life back and have been experiencing this absolutely wonderful state of well being for ten months and nine days. Yesterday, however, Afib hit me - same old stuff - complete fatigue, lightheadedness and all around sick feeling. It came on at 9:30am and decided to leave at 7:30pm. - ten hours of Afib. I'm really not complaining! YES...I am complaining!! I just knew these last ten months were nothing short of a miracle. I kinda knew in the back of my mind that Afib would catch up with me at some point in time - despite the medication. Maybe it will stay away for another ten months...do you think? I wonder what happened? If Afib creates a memory and NSR creates a memory...........wasn't ten months enough of a memory to take hold? Was I eating improperly? Have I been overdoing my exercising routine? Have I been getting enough sleep...........on and on and on and on.............a little discouraging. NO....a lot discouraging.. I want more and more and more NSR...........that's an order! GOD....THAT'S AN ORDER. Please excuse the shouting - I'm just really p*ssed! Oh shut up Ellen - count your blessings.....at least you returned to NSR....it could have been worse...right? Talk about mixed emotions!!!!!!! Guest guest
Ellen, Oh no! So sorry to hear about the af. I just got a sinking feeling when I saw the heading of your message. Did you wait it out at home? Go to the ER? Call your doctor? Were you distinctly aware that you were in afib this time? Or was the fatigue, lightheadedness and sick feeling your tipoff? It must have been an enormous relief to have reverted to normal rhythm. I feel so badly for you -- you must be on a roller coaster ride emotionally. You know how much we all care about you, so please, take heart and remain hopeful. Here's hoping it was just a complete fluke. Maybe an overheated Dofetilide pill that had lost its potency? Please keep us all posted as to how you are feeling, and what your doctor says. Sandy 54 NC 10hr Bubble Break! Good Morning Everyone: Yesterday was Sunday, August 19th.........
