There are lots of other drugs out there. Flecainide is a possibility if you

don't have heart problems other than afib. Sotalol is proarrhythmic like

Amiodarone and Flecainide, but it doesn't usually have as many side effects

as Amiodarone. Perhaps you have already tried these drugs as well as the

safer beta blockers and calcium channel blockers. I am doing well right now

on Atenolol and Verapamil, which keep my rate slow and fairly steady to the

point that I have difficulty telling when I am in afib. My older brother in

permanent afib is doing well on Atenolol and Digoxin. (Digoxin is thought to

be more appropriate for those already in permanent afib than for those

suffering paroxysmal afib because it can encourage aftib in paroxysmal

sufferers.)The drug that is right for you would depend on the overall

condition of your heart.
