Interesting, I take Symbicort, and Spiriva, and Singulair, but not everyday, the Singulair I mean. I only use it when I feel my allergies are acting up, which is about 2/3 of the year. The Symbicort twice a day, and the Spiriva once a day. It all seems to work rather well, no compaints yet. Yes the Singulair does seem to help with the allergies, the stuffiness and runny nose. I also have Flutacasone, but only when I cannot get my sinuses to open up, usually I only use a saline sinus rinse works great most every day to keep my sinuses clear. Singulair is a leukotriene inhibitor. Leukotrienes are the chemicals which cause swelling in your lungs and the tightening of muscles in the airways. I believe my doctor told me it was originally marketed as an asthma medication and then they discovered that in SOME people it also had an effect on allergies.

Willow I take Zyrtec and singulair along with advair as my asthma treatment. The 3 can be safely taken concurrently because they do not interact and they all work in slightly different ways. None of them alone controls my asthma/allergies but together, except when Im sick, they work great.
