Guest guest
Hey - I do the billing for an autism treatment center so I might be able to help you ... however I've only been working there for 3 weeks and it's my first experience w/ billing speech therapy, so I don't know just HOW much I'll be able to help. But I've already learned a few things. There are two codes that could be incorrect: the CPT code (something like 92507 or close to that), or the ICD9 (diagnosis) code. I'd bet the diagnosis code is the one that is wrong ... they may have used 'autism' diagnosis and should have used one that specifies what type of speech problem is being treated ... I would recommend you call the billing office and find out the CPT and ICD9 codes that were used. You are more than welcome to email them to me and have me check them for you. I have seen some United Healthcare pay for some speech, depending on the type of group coverage provided. Some may cover it only if it is related to illness or injury, and that rules out autism (according to their standards although WE believe it's an illness). Do you know what restrictions there are on your policy? Just let me know if you need help. --- Crosss <crosswilsons@...> wrote: > Does anybody get health insurance coverage for > Speech Therapy? > > We are in United Healthcare which covers Speech > therapy with certain > caveats.
