I have not had to use my inhaler when I go out for about a year now, but I do not ever leave the house without it.. I'm still having problems with all of my allergies but I read labels...use good sense to not go where I know that I will have a problem. Use my Neti-pot, which has been the best thing ever for me. I did change out my mattress...took my carpet out and put in Vinyl wood flooring.. Still use an air purifier off and on. Staying out of the hospital has been my goal and have accomplished it for over a year now. I did spend the night in the ER about a months ago. They said it was a somach bug, but my white count was 26,000. They really ran me through the wringer all night long. X-ray, c-t scan, blood work, etc. One Dr said I had pneumonia and another one said no.. I kept telling them I

had a sinus infection but noone paid any attention...anyway after two bags of antibotics, they let me go the next morning. EVERYONE HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Lou.

Hi Jann,

Unfortunately, I have not been able to explore the wonders of acupuncture. I know many people who swear by it. However, I have had the pleasure of fully experiencing asthma. I have studied this condition in great depth for the last four years now. In my studies, I have found that true asthma will not ever go away. There is no "cure". You may have RADS (reactive airway dysfunction syndrome) which is asthma but not asthma. It is commonly caused by chemical damage in the lungs. With RADS the symptoms can eventually be overcome. However, since your reaction seems to be mold, I seriously doubt rads. It is most likely that you have adult onset asthma. Asthma is very specific to each person. It is possible that the acupuncture can completely control your symptoms, but I beg you to not ignore your symptoms. Even if you are feeling better, the underlying condition is still

there. Two years ago my sister's neighbor died of a massive asthma attack. He had not had any asthma symptoms for over ten years. So, he didn't have an inhaler on hand. With an asthma diagnosis, it is very important to be prepared. Hopefully, your symptoms will settle down and you will not need daily medication or treatment. Breathe easy.

Hello. I am a newbie who has been lurking for a couple of weeks. I have been diagnosed with asthma due to an undetected pinpoint leak in our hot water heating system. I had smelled an odd smell in our house for several months. When a wet spot appeared in the carpet, my husband removed seven gallonsof water with a shop vac.

I began having shortness of breath and wheezin before the leak was detected. At our small, local hospital, I was given a pulmonary tests. Results of the test resulted in my being prescribed albuterol. A phone call to my allergist (3 1/2 hour drive away from our home) suggested I needed more medication, so my local ARNP prescribed Flovent, also. I usually don't tolerate steroids, but, so far, have not had a problem with the latter. The carpeting in the room with the leak was removed and the floor sanitized by a professional flood team. New carpet has been laid, and new ceiling tile will also be installed. We are running a new Whirlpool Whispure air cleaner with both charcoal and HEPA filters in that room, now.

I have much coughing up of mucous and mucous in my head. I have a constant tickle in my windpipe. A very annoying itching skin is nearly stopped. It is cold here in the northern midwest, and I suspect that breathing cold air makes things worse. My excellent acupuncturist gave me a treatment, last week. Right after that treatment, the release of the mucous by coughing, began. He is confident that he has cured others and that when the mucous is cleared from my lungs, I will be free of the asthma.

I am interested in any comments, similar experiences, and information, as, although I have been treated for years for allergies with sublingual drops, I have not had a problem with asthma until this unfortunate leak in our heating system.

"Jann"
