I have know way of knowing whether you might have caught bronchitis from the other person, but I can tell you something about cause and effect.I have had many experiences where I thought of doing something -- like traveling through snow to swim in a heated indoor pool -- but didn't do it, and the next day I developed a cold that I normally would have attributed to swimming in a heated indoor pool and driving home in a snowstorm.

However, it sounds as if you feel uncomfortable around this person, and might do well to avoid being with him or her when possible.

Ok, I have a question about a certain member of my extended family. This person has a chronic, congested, nasty sounding cough going on for about two years. This person is doctor phobic so will not seek treatment. This person also used a primatene mist inhaler frequently many years ago but then decided that there asthma had magically disappeared. I have tried to explain to them that this is not possible but it falls on deaf ears.

Now what has happened twice in two months is that each time I have been in close proximity to this person, I have developed a bad case of bronchitis within 24 hours? I'm fighting my second bout of it now.

Am I just being paranoid here or could I be catching something from this person?

Thanks so much for your input.
