New research in the UK reports that nursing infants are exposed

through breast milk to two commonly used brominated flame

retardants known as TBBPA and HBCD. Exposures via this source are

four times higher than exposures estimated for adults. While there

is much less information about the potential toxicity of these

compounds compared to PBDEs, available data suggest it may be

similar.
