Hi Nichole,I was diagnosed with asthma a few years ago after a cough that followed a sinus infection wouldn't go away. He gave me an oral steroid for 4 days. I stayed on it the whole time; it didn't bother me at all. It took care of the cough. When the 4 days were over, the cough came back for a day or two, and then went away for good. Perhaps you should go back on the steroid for the time it's prescribed. It's no fun to spend a week unable to sleep well, but then you probably aren't sleeping well anyway from the coughing.Sheri
