I have asthma, and have always let the dentist know, exactly all the meds I am on, and how much, never had any problem, and I have had a lot of work done my teeth, root canals, pulled teeth, capped teeth, on anesthesia, you need to check your dentist out really good, and make sure you are not sick when you go, and then as I said, make sure you tell him you are asthmatic, and what you take, and tell your regular family Dr. that you are going to a dentist, in other words cover all bases just in case something happens, but, nothing happened to me in that respect. I was more worried about the needles, as I get older, I am finding out that dental needles really make me anxious, never did before. LOL. It's ironic that you're talking about root canals today because my husband, who has asthma, is going to have this procedure this morning. He never had one before. I have been concerned about how he will respond to the treatment asthma-wise. He used his nebulizer earlier this morning, and will use his rescue inhaler just prior to the procedure.

If anyone has any advice for an asthmatic preparing for extensive dental treatment, I like to hear it.Judy K.
