Guest guest
Hi Everyone, We are not working with Dr. Goldberg anymore but still following much of his advice and the basic protocol. My son received all of the recommended vaccines up to age 3 and then has not received any more. Now that he is healthier and his immune system is a bit more regulated, at age 16, we are considering possibly having him get a few of the recommended vaccines he missed. His regular pediatrician has recommended that he get Menactra/Meingoccocal, HepA and Tdap. Can any of you tell me what Dr. G's recommendation is on these three vaccines? Thanks, Gaylen **************Biggest Grammy Award surprises of all time on AOL Music. Guest guest
I'm not sure about those three... ....but I do remember Dr. G saying that if your child has not had the chicken pox vaccine or gotten the actual virus, to give them the shot once they are a preteen/teen because it's worse to catch the virus as an adult. (BTW, the chicken pox vaccine is one of the few he is against as an infant/child. He prefers for the kids to get the virus naturally. But *I think* if they are on anti-virals, it's hard to catch.) - in Mobile, AL __________________________ Reality lies beyond the horizon... Guest guest
I would not vaccinate him with those, you may ask Dr. G. but I don't think that it is necessary. This is merely my opinion though, if I were you I would research those a lot more.... Guest guest
Hi Gaylan, I also would agree that you should not vaccinate your son. I have three typically developing teenagers and they have not had these vaccines nor will they ever. They each had only nine vaccines during their early years and after carefully weighing the pros and cons we choose not to vaccinate any further. My 19 year old son is a sophomore in college and we decided not to give the meningitis vaccine due to the complications associated with it. Our 17 year old daughters will also not receive this vaccine. Our son had a terrible reaction to his DPT at two months old - 105 temp. and his leg was swollen twice the size. Our ped. at the time decided that he was never to get this vaccine again. I would be scared to death to upset your sons immune system with vaccines that he doesn't really need. IMHO.
