I totally agree with that you should bring your daughter to the ER unless you have a pediatric pulmonologist for her to see. I think she should be sent for a PFT (pulmonary function test), MRI and/or cat scan of her lungs as well as x-rays to they can rule out certain things and then be able to diagnose her. It may or may not only be asthma so to be on the safe side have her see a good pulm. She seems a little better today..the pain in back is gone but still some issues with feeling like she is breathing on a very hot humid day...inhalers help and she said she will go to urgent care or er if it gets worse...Im glad the pain is gone as I was thinking pneumonia..her sinuses are messed up so thinking another sinus infection but this episode of asthma is diff. from any other she has ever had..I guess asthma is unpedictable and can change... thanks everyone. jean>> She may need to go to her doctor and be checked out. Since it's a weekend, take her to urgent care if there's one in your area. When I get tight like that, it usually means a flare up is on the way.> > > > ________________________________> > To: asthma > Sent: Friday, March 23, 2012 9:13 PM> Subject: breathing question> > > Â > my daughter isnt feeling well and says she feels like its hard to breath...not like she cant get air in but The way she describes it is its like when its hot outside and the air is thick...she did her inhaler and isnt wheezing just feels heaviness...also her upper left back hurts..any ideas...she is 21. she is prone to upper resp. infections but it doesnt seem to be this. she has asthma and environmental allergies and right now tree pollen is high...its the pain in the upper back that has me more concerned. jean>
