Guest guest
Grandmother took her. I believe she was sick at her last round of shots too. She's only like 6 months old too. My brother knows where I stand on this but just decides I'm nuts. Of course nobody could have told me anything when I was a new mom. I had even already heard of the suspicion of the MMR connection, asked about it, and went ahead and had it, and a couple of weeks later, after my son had stopped responding to his name, I started wondering my G what have I done? Now. I know they don't cause it. I was already seeing 'things' before the MMR, and he got better, and regressd way worse after the live flu. But Dr G sure wouldn't give a sick child 4 shots! Oh well. I'm keeping a close eye on that baby. Maybe I'll just volunteer to take her to her pediatric visits after I get off work from now on. --- Cheryl Lowrance <c.lowrance@...> wrote: > Mom let that happen??? > > Cheryl > > On Feb 21, 2008, at 5:15 PM, wrote: > > > Once again - needing to vent my anger here.... > > My niece went to the doctor today, just getting > over a > > bad viral infection, currently has an ear > infection, > > and got 4 vaccines today. > > > > Great doc, huh? > > > > > > > __________________________________________________________ > > Looking for last minute shopping deals? > > Find them fast with Search. > http://tools.search./ > > newsearch/category.php?category=shopping > > > > > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been > removed] > > ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing. Guest guest
It's hard to watch babies/children that are close to you (yet beyond your sphere of influence) be placed in dangerous situations. I have three siblings and the only one that fully supports how I'm treating my oldest affected child and what I'm doing to prevent anything from happening to my younger child (and the baby on the way) is my sister WITHOUT children. I have nine nieces/nephews on my side of the family and three are special needs, two of those children being -related issues. I've tried talking about diet, immune problems, family history, etc... but I can't make my sister accept that those issues could be key to her children, even though she's seen the progress my son has made. The one thing that I can control is what I expose children in my care to. I do not give any child something I wouldn't give to my own children- whether it be candy at Halloween (I give pencils) or ice cream at a church social- I'm the water and pretzel stick lady. You can bet that when my nephews/nieces are in my care they get hamburgers, not cheeseburgers. Soymilk, not cow's milk. Tofutti Cuties (and they love them!) If you've " warned your neighbor " , so to speak, and set the example, it's out of your hands in most cases. But prayer never hurts. - in Mobile, AL __________________________ Reality lies beyond the horizon... Wonderwegian Re: I'm so mad Grandmother took her. Guest guest
, that's terrible. We saw Dr. G Wednesday and discussed the issue of immunization. My son has no immunity against measles. I was relieved when he said that he wanted Noah as healthy as possible before he received any more vaccines. He currently has bronchitis and we'll be starting Valtrex in 9 days. I can't believe a ped would give a six month old (or any child) shots when she's so sick. It's crazy! In any child with a compromised immune system, immunizations should be approached with an abundance of caution. Robyn <thecolemans4@...> wrote: Grandmother took her. He was showing signs at birth but you could still see something get lost with every round of shots. It was so subtle you could hardly notice (let's face it, he wasn't exactly typical to begin with). I didn't really notice the connection until much later when I thought back to what he did do and how they just slowly disappeared and it coincided with every vaccine appointment. Now I don't vax. Guest guest
i agree with the idea of good for one is good for all. It took me years to finally stop Connor's teacher and classroom staff to stop Sneeking Crap to him. When they finally did the progess was so damatic they were flabbergasted. Now when they want to have a classroom party I supply all of the food. If I help one of the other kids by accident that is fine with me. Sometimes the refusal to accept the obvious just amazes me. His mother will come home from the mall and I will find a Cheetos package under the DRIVER'S seat. We have been on the diet for years and she agrees that it is the best thing we have going but the need to give in out weighs the obvious progress we have made. AMAZING and stupid!!! In regard to the vaccines I disagree. The Jury is still out, on the mercury and the basic nature of vacines. Enviromental mercury has risen at a greater rate than autism cases over the last decade. The overall load negates any definitive study on the increase in autism post the thermasil ban. --- Wonderwegian & Chile J & C <carriecox@...> wrote: > It's hard to watch babies/children that are close to > you (yet beyond your sphere of influence) be placed > in dangerous situations. > > I have three siblings and the only one that fully > supports how I'm treating my oldest affected child > and what I'm doing to prevent anything from > happening to my younger child (and the baby on the > way) is my sister WITHOUT children. > > I have nine nieces/nephews on my side of the family > and three are special needs, two of those children > being -related issues. > I've tried talking about diet, immune problems, > family history, etc... but I can't make my sister > accept that those issues could be key to her > children, even though she's seen the progress my son > has made. > > The one thing that I can control is what I expose > children in my care to. > I do not give any child something I wouldn't give to > my own children- whether it be candy at Halloween (I > give pencils) or ice cream at a church social- I'm > the water and pretzel stick lady. > You can bet that when my nephews/nieces are in my > care they get hamburgers, not cheeseburgers. > Soymilk, not cow's milk. Guest guest
When I went back to all of my notes regarding Noah in order to write the summary for Dr. G, I had forgotten how much he could do. Yes, he was globally delayed pretty much since birth, but he did acquire those skills eventually. I do believe that the vaccines added insult to injury, because as time went on his development came slower and slower. At some point, I probably will vaccinate, but only when my kids are healthy, completely healthy, and then only for things that could kill them. All the best, Robyn Cheryl Lowrance <c.lowrance@...> wrote: On Feb 21, 2008, at 6:28 PM, wrote: > Grandmother took her. > I believe she was sick at her last round of shots too. > She's only like 6 months old too. > My brother knows where I stand on this but just > decides I'm nuts. > What a shame. We are talking about *injecting multiple viruses and/or bacteria* into children whose immune systems are already compromised, either by illness and/or other factors. It is simply common medical sense that a child who is already ill will not have the available resources to properly respond to such an insult to the immune system. Dr. G himself has said he does not believe that vaccines " cause " autism, but he does say that vaccines can have very dangerous consequences when given to a child who is not in 100% good health, and that certain children should receive their vaccinations on a less aggressive schedule. ly, I thought it had lately become the common practice among pediatricians to never, ever give a vaccination to a child who is, or has recently been, sick, but apparently there are still pediatricians who will vaccinate if a kid, as Dr. G would say, is " just standing in the office. It really hasn't changed much, most peds *will* vaccinate any kid that is " just standing in the office " . If you're close enough for them to stick you, they will. Guest guest
Hi - Thank you - I feel the same way - that it is not my place to try to 'push' them... like you said, they are outside my sphere of influence. My mother was asking me what I would say to get the parents to listen, and I simply said my brother has heard me talk about this for 6 years. Thank you - you're so right - it's hard to watch! I will also pray and ask for the right words. I'm obviously opinionated enough here on this list lol, but we've all come here 'looking' and asking. Thanks all --- Wonderwegian & Chile J & C <carriecox@...> wrote: > It's hard to watch babies/children that are close to > you (yet beyond your sphere of influence) be placed > in dangerous situations. Guest guest
The only contraindication listed against having a vaccine that I've heard a pediatrician say (in regards to average illnesses) is when running fever. I know there are others but I mean just mean in general. Gee. My kids don't run fever when they're supposed to. Neither do I. Another thing ... there is also no reason a vaccine can't be delayed a month either. Oh well. That's the last of my venting on the topic. Truly. I think. --- Cheryl Lowrance <c.lowrance@...> wrote: > I've never heard him say that but it's sooooo true!! > It really > hasn't changed much, most peds *will* vaccinate any > kid that is " just > standing in the office " .
