Guest guest
We Had trouble with my son with sleeping arrangements. He did best in a loft bed, (Six feet up) The height gave him the feeling of security he was looking for. --- Kristy Nardini <krnardini@...> wrote: > My 5 y.o. son insists on sleeping on the floor. Guest guest
Intersting. My twins' current bed is about 4 feet off the floor, and he still won't sleep in it. Did your son like being close to the ceiling? Kristy Re: Sleeping on the floor We Had trouble with my son with sleeping arrangements. Guest guest
No I believe he feels more secure at that height. It was a big hit from the first day. he had traditionally refused to be in his room with the door shut or the lights off and would lie down when asked only to turn up in our bed after an hour or two. Now I get up on weekends and he has collected cereal and juice and is back in bed watching TV. I believe it is a security and sensory issue. Close to the ceiling may give him reference and a controllable space. --- Kristy Nardini <krnardini@...> wrote: > Intersting. Guest guest
Kristy, Bill's comment gave me an idea... what if you put one of those play tents on the bed to make it an enclosed space (like a fort)? Most of the time he sleeps on a big long pillow on the floor next to his bed. Or he may start out in the bed and ends up on sleeping on the floor during the night. Has anyone else experienced this with their child? Just wanted your thoughts on this. Not sure if I should do something or leave him be. Guest guest
My 9-y-o Aspie sleeps on a super comfy chair in his room. He used to sleep in his bed, but he started sleeping in the chair some months ago. My daughter, not on the spectrum, sleeps all over the house -- from the living room floor to our bedroom floor. My husband usually falls asleep on the couch and can't be bothered to come to bed. That makes me the only one in the house who actually sleeps in the " right " place. I would leave him be.E.V.On Sun, Mar 6, 2011 at 10:30 AM, <tracyjohnson70@...> wrote: I have noticed recently my 4 y/o aspie rarely sleeps in the bed these days.
