Ok, last week I asked about exercise-induced asthma.  Today I went in to see my PCP.  They took my pulse ox at rest, and it was 99%  They then had me walk over to the check-out counter and back (about 15 second walk), and it had dropped to 95%.

Ok, last week I asked about exercise-induced asthma.  Today I went in to see my PCP.  They took my pulse ox at rest, and it was 99%  They then had me walk over to the check-out counter and back (about 15 second walk), and it had dropped to 95%.  She told me that she'd expect that big a drop if she had me on the treadmill for 20 minutes, not simply a walk down the hall.  What do you all think?

They were concerned and took chest x-rays and are setting up an appointment for a pulmonary function test.  What can I expect at this test?  I'm probably anemic, could that account for that big of a drop in O2 sat?  She prescribed an albuterol inhaler (man, these things are pricey!).  I'm going to go ahead and try it out and go for a run tonight to see if I can tell any difference.

Any thoughts and/or info is appreciated!Thanks,-- Janellehomemadethisandthat.blogspot.com
