Guest guest
When we were there over Thanksgiving week they have an open street market. We used it as a walking time it took a good hour to walk straight down to . I can't remember the street but when you walk out the front of the hospital there is a Farmacy across the street you will walk to your left on that street straight and you will run into the market. Take a card from the Hospital if you go anywhere that way you can show it to your taxi driver coming back. We walked a long time did not feel like walking back to the hospital. Unless you speak spanish then you are okay. They also have a Mall there as well and it is about 3 min from the hospital by taxi just ask the ladies at the hospital and have them write it down the taxi driver will take you there. It is a nice mall. I don't have any suggestions on San Diego we were only there for the night to sleep. Take Care and have fun! Does anyone know if there is anything interesting to see or do there? Also we will have about four to five hours wait at the airport in San Diego before flying home. Any ideas there also? That is if we will feel like doing anything :)Thank you! Billie
Guest guest
Don't know much about Mexicali, although if you need meds, you can get them much cheaper in Mexico (bring your prescriptions with you, but make sure you use a recommended pharmacy. In San Diego, there is always the zoo, Sea World, Old Town trolley rides, shopping, the aquarium, Legoland, cruise the harbor, kayaking, the beaches, and TJ is not far (more English spoken there). I used to love visiting SD. Lots to see and do. And great weather 99% of the time. cshellin Billie Branham <billiebranham@...> wrote: My daughter and I will have about six hours in Mexicali with nothing scheduled. Guest guest
I don't know how old your children are but there's Magic Mountain which should only be about a 30 minute drive from Chatsworth/Tarzana area. It's in Valencia (I live here). It's not far at all but it is geared more for older kids as there aren't a lot of kiddy rides. There's also Mountasia in Valencia which is more family fun like arcade, mini golf, go carts). I'm trying to think of interesting things that might suit a child - oh, there's the Kidspace Children's Museum in Pasadena, Children's Museum of Los Angeles, the California Science Center, Griffith Observatory, Santa Pier and that's all I can think of right now. Guest guest
Oh, there's also Medieval Times (dinner show) if your child is in to that sort of thing. cheryl On Feb 28, 2008, at 4:38 PM, Cheryl Lowrance wrote: > I don't know how old your children are but there's Magic Mountain > which should only be about a 30 minute drive from Chatsworth/Tarzana > area. Guest guest
Universal Studios, Magic Mountain are always fun things to do I need help from those of you located in / around the LA-Tarzana area. We're heading west to see Dr Goldberg and Dr Suzi at the end of March. Our first stop is Disneyland for some quality time with Mickey and friends. No SPECT scan this year. Later in the week we head north to Chatsworth (because you can't commute between Tarzana and Anaheim ..) for visits with the Doctors. Any suggestions on what we can do? We have only one appt with Dr Suzi because she'll be out of town. We'll probably spend some time at the beach one afternoon. We've already visited the La Brea tar pit. Thanks! doris - land
Guest guest
I took my son to a kid's place near the Santa pier one time when it was pouring rain. It was indoors, with an aquarium, ball pit, climbing tubes/slide, etc. He had a blast. Does anyone know of it? There is another indoor place near Dr. G's office that is for young kids. Things for them to ride and climb on. It had an underwater theme, if I remember correctly. Guest guest
Under the Sea is terrific...there's also a great place in Porter Ranch, about 10 miles north of Dr.G's office, called " Creative Leap " . Similar to Under the Sea, but they have this giant climbing/sliding complex that my son goes absolutely crazy for, a rock-climbing wall, and other unique play areas. http://www.creativeleap.biz/ Donna > > > > > I need help from those of you located in / around the LA-Tarzana > > area. > > > We're heading west to see Dr Goldberg and Dr Suzi at the end of > > March. > > > Our first stop is Disneyland for some quality time with Mickey and > > > friends. > > > No SPECT scan this year.
